Elizabeth Anne Murray, Ph.D., serves as a Graduate Writing Coordinator in the Research and Writing Development Center for the EdD-LOC program. Before joining the RWDC, Dr. Murray worked as a postdoctoral fellow for the EdD-LOC and taught courses in Baylor’s secondary education program. Dr. Murray holds a BA in English from the University of Mississippi, an MA in Education from Wake Forest University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Qualitative Research from the University of Alabama.
She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa, and while at the University of Alabama, she was recognized for both her outstanding teaching and research. She was a 2019 recipient of the MSERA Research in Progress Award and her work received an Outstanding Dissertation Award honorable mention from the University of Alabama. Dr. Murray's journey to academia began while teaching middle school ELA and watching her students navigate big questions born from reading books. Her research interests include disruptive encounters with literature, difficult conversations in the ELA classroom, and the intersections of literature, learning, and morality.
In her free time, Murray enjoys spending time with her family, trying new recipes, and being outdoors.
