IMPACT Mentoring Program
Abstract
The IMPACT (Intentional Mentoring Partnerships Across Cohort Teams) Mentoring Program serves students across Baylor University’s EdD Program in Learning & Organizational Change (EdD-LOC), which prepares students to apply essential principles of teaching and learning by leading and managing positive change in school systems, corporations, governmental or non-governmental agencies, and community programs. The IMPACT Mentoring Program supports and guides students through a cross-cohort peer mentoring experience that allows students to broaden their community connections and to experience the full mentoring cycle, initially as mentees during EDC 6391 & 6392 Problem of Practice Phase One and Two and culminating in serving as a mentor while enrolled in EDC 6346 Mentoring & Supervision. The purpose of the IMPACT Mentoring Program is to support mentees in the development of Chapters 1 and 2 of their Problem of Practice and to equip students with mentoring skills and the ability to create successful mentoring programs and manage positive change in their field.
