Stefan W. Vaughn, Ed.D.
Lecturer
Dr. Stefan Vaughn is a lecturer in the Ed.D. Online in Learning and Organizational Change program in the Baylor School of Education. He joined Baylor’s faculty in the fall of 2024, teaching Community Leadership and Collaboration as well as serving as a faculty advisor for students completing their dissertations.
Dr. Vaughn received a B.A.S. in project management with a specialization in public service from Northwest Florida State College, an M.S. in administration, an Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction, and an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in diversity studies from the University of West Florida. He has taught graduate courses at the University of West Florida and undergraduate courses in organizational leadership, criminal justice, and cultural competence at Texas A&M University – Commerce.
Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Vaughn served in a variety of senior-level administrative capacities during a 20+ year professional career in Florida as a law enforcement officer, Chief of Corrections, and Director of Public Safety. Dr. Vaughn completed the Certified Public Manager program from the Florida Center for Public Management at Florida State University as well as the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership programs of Florida’s Criminal Justice Executive Training Institute within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Dr. Vaughn’s research interests and publications include such topics as research ethics, judicial discretion, cultural diversity training, ethnocultural empathy, campus policing, and perceptions of competence-based education. He remains committed to researching system-oriented approaches that improve organizational efficiency, online doctoral education, and the expansion of social justice relative to public policy and practice in diverse educational and community settings.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Shelby Vaughn, and their Doberman Pinscher.
